Recently my husband and I took a wonderful trip to Napa to enjoy wine tasting and celebrate our 31st Wedding Anniversary. I have always appreciated my husband planning our get aways (even though I'm the planner) and honoring our special day. We have taken several trips to Napa before but this time he wanted to try the different AVA regions and see how much different wine can taste. Needless to say, we had a wonderful experience at each stop and had one on one time with winemakers who really taught us the finer points of tasting, smelling, and experiencing wine.
Here are the spots we stopped:
Bobdog: https://www.bobdogwine.com/
BobDog Wines is the highest winery in Sonoma County and the only winery located in the new Pine Mountain-Cloverdale Peak Appellation, at 2000 feet above the Alexander Valley, and surrounded by the Estate Bordeaux grape lands of Sky Pine Vineyards.
Clos du Val: https://www.closduval.com/
In 1972, Clos du Val acquired 150 acres of estate vineyards in the heart of the Stags Leap District, and made its first wines, including Clos Du Val’s legendary debut 1972 Cabernet Sauvignon—one of only six California Cabernets selected for the famous 1976 Judgment of Paris Tasting, where California defeated some of Bordeaux’s finest. Ten years later, Clos du Val’s reputation for creating some of Napa Valley's most gracefully age-worthy wines was solidified when its 1972 Cabernet Sauvignon took first place in the Judgment of Paris rematch.
Wattle Creek Winery at DeLoach Vineyards: https://wattlecreek.com/
Since 1994, Wattle Creek Winery has been sharing a passion for wine and life . . . creating great Sonoma wines, as well as exceptional moments and events, while having a fantastic sense of family, loyalty and community born from a shared love of wine. Wattle Creek’s unique style of wines from the Alexander Valley is refreshing and inspiring - a new approach that beautifully complements our collection of wineries in Sonoma, Napa and France.

La Rochelle: https://www.lrwine.com/
We had an opportunity to sit with the winemaker and experience Polyphony. https://www.lrwine.com/Acquire/Polyphony Check it out and see for yourself what exactly this experience is all about.
Pestoni Family Wines: https://pestonifamily.com/
For five generations, our family has grown and produced single-vineyard, handmade wines made from some of the Napa Vaeely's most celebrated appellations.
Ehret Family Winery: https://www.sonomacounty.com/wineries/ehret-family-winery
Ehret Family Winery is located in Sonoma County, California with its vineyards set in the foothills of Knights Valley. The Ehret’s have been producing fine wines since 2005 with an emphasis on Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Malbec, and petite Verdot – the famed red wine grapes of Bordeaux.
